Crusaders tame the Panthers 13-6

Fond du Lac, WI – The Fond du Lac Crusaders earned a win in their first ever game at Art Humphrey Field, defeating the New Berlin Panthers 13-6.

The win evens the Crusaders’ record out at 1-1 on the season.

The Crusaders scored on their first possession as Kenneth Grundy scored on a 4-yard run. He rushed for 51 yards in the game.

Great field position was given to the Crusaders later in the game as Tyler Behling returned a kickoff 66 yards. Mo Jenkins then added to the total as he rushed for his first touchdown of the early season.

Defensively, the Crusaders shut down the Panthers offense allowing just 117 yards of total offense, on 4 of 23 passing. Dray Boyrington shut down the run with 7 tackles, Tim Hollander recorded 6.5, and Josh Wyno blocked an extra point to cap off the victory for the Crusaders.

Next Saturday the crusade continues as the (1-1) Crusaders host the (0-2) West Allis Predators as they hope to duplicate last weeks victory in the friendly surroundings of Art Humphrey Field, kickoff starts at 7pm. The (1-1) Panthers will travel to Carroll College in Waukesha to take on the improving (2-1) Muskego Hitmen, kickoff begins at 5pm.
