Playing with fire

July 10, 2006 Brett Butterbrodt

Despite being undersized, Brett Butterbrodt continues to dominate his opponent with a fire and an unmatched passion for winning.

Brett Butterbrodt, also known as “Butter,” started playing football in 5th grade for the Muskego Chargers football program. He continued playing football all the way through High school where he played on the offensive line, primarily at center. Right after High school, at only 18 years of age, Butterbrodt joined the Muskego Hitmen where he again played offensive line and impressed the coaches with his technique and explosiveness off the ball.

Once Butterbrodt joined the league, he learned that the overall speed and skill of his opponents was much faster than any high school football game he was ever a part of. At 6 feet tall and weighing in at only 240 pounds, Butterbrodt once again had to rely on his technique and agility to overpower his opponents. Ever since his rookie year, Butterbrodt has been an important part to the Muskego Hitmen’s offensive line, earning league All-Star status in only his second year in the league.

At the Guard position, the undersized #65 continues to pound defensive ends and linebackers alike. Winning serves as Butterbrodt’s main source of motivation. Even though he has achieved all-star status and other awards, winning championships is what’s important to him. To keep on top of his game, Butterbrodt stays committed to the weight room. He loves lifting and knowing that he is doing his part to help his team win.

Known as a selfless player by his teammates, Butterbrodt understands that winning is not a one man mission, but something that requires a team effort. Being only 23 years old, he has a long successful career ahead of him. By the end of his career, with his winning attitude and commitment to the game of football, Brett Butterbrodt will likely be on pace to go down in league history as one of the best lineman ever.
