Expansion team selection

  1. Every expansion or new team who wants to be a part of the IFL must go through a screening process. The League Government will vote on whether or not expansion is needed.
  2. The league has an application form for new teams who would like to join. The application must be filled out completely and handed into the Commissioner before the selection process begins.
  3. Please present the following information to the Commissioner when seeking to be an expansion team:
    1. A plan on how your team will be financially successful
    2. Team colors and uniform
    3. Team name and what city you and your team represent
    4. Your goals and how you plan to achieve them
    5. How you think you can better the IFL
    6. A list of potential players and sponsors for your team

Guidelines for IFL team captains

  • Captains must submit a team name and colors of their choice to the league board. The name and colors has to be approved by the board of directors prior to the team using it.
  • Each captain is spokesperson of their respective team and the league.
  • Each captain must attend all league meetings for new ideas, input, new rule ideas or other issues pertaining to the league.
  • Captains are responsible for getting their respective teams ready for the upcoming season with uniforms, equipment and other needs.
  • Captains are welcome and encouraged to bring new ideas in regards to the league in front of the board.
  • Captains must present themselves suitable and respectable on and off the field since they represent the IFL.
  • Captains have the authority to bench or reprimand any player on his team who disrespects or breaks any rules of the league.
  • Captains have the authority to bench or reprimand any player on his team who disrespects or breaks any rules of the league.
  • Captains are obligated to reprimand a player on their team who receives a suspension. Failure to do so will result in an automatic forfeit for the team.
  • If a player on a team is posed with a problem the captain of that team should bring forth the problem to the board of directors. The player should not try to contact board members as that will not result in any decisions.
  • On game days captains are to gather their teams at least 1 hour prior to their game.

Additional important notes

  • IFL logos will be provided to all teams who needs them and are to be worn on the lower left portion of the helmet of each player on the team. Failure to do so will result in a $100 fine by the league.
  • All players on a team are to have a proper and full uniform (football jersey, football pants, helmet, shoulder pads, socks, football shoes etc). Uniforms of the entire team should match down the socks. Failure to do any of the above will result in a $100 fine at the start of the season and $100 for every additional game played.
  • League is willing to help teams with uniform orders. The captain needs to submit money to the league for the uniforms prior to February 1st in order to guarantee delivery.
